A quiet village, actually given the title of “city” in 1300.
A magnificent 14th century castle stands here originally built by the Barbancois family who remained owners until 1720.

Le Chateau
|
Now owned by Richard and Francoise Hurbain ,who have restored it to it’s original beauty.
Romantic novelist George Sand made the chateau the setting for her novel “Le Meunier d’Angibault”. (1845)
Standing majestically in the landscape, with 38 towers and 3 drawbridges it’s not surprising that it’s one of the most photographed monuments in France.
