Standing on the cliff over the Arnon river is the 12th century Chateau of Culan. The chateau has seen many guests of note through history, Philippe Auguste (1188), Louis XI (1465), Sully (1614) and George Sand.
The chateau and gardens are open to the public.

Culan Viaducts
|
Spanning the Valley of the Arnon river is the early railway viaduct consisting of two individual viaducts one of 11 arches and a taller viaduct of 5 arches, the total distance it covers is approx. 2km.
Along with the chateau it is a prominant feature of the town.
4km from Culan is the village of Vesdun, which, since the computerisation of mapping, is now the offical "centre of France". A demonstrative monument indicates the actual centrepoint.
